St Eval Church - Lastest News
From David Green, one of the CCMAA members on the St Eval Parochial Church Council:
On 15 April 2012 it was announced that The Reverend Canon Edward Pruen, at that time a Residentiary Canon at Southwell Minster in Nottinghamshire, would be our priest-incharge.

Canon Ed and his wife, Margaret, moved to Cornwall during the summer. In a service on 4 September 2012 conducted by the Bishop of Truro and the Rural Dean Canon Ed was licensed and installed as the Priest-in-Charge of St Eval and the other three churches of the Lanherne in Pydar Cluster (St Columb Major, St Ervan and St Mawgan-in-Pydar)

St Eval Church Pinnacles Appeal - Update

The pinnacles are in very good order thanks to the generous support of the CCMAA and other
organisations and the good project management of the restoration by Chris Moncaster.

Quinquennial Inspection

Our architect’s 5-yearly inspection report confirmed that the church is generally in good order. Inevitably, there are continuing tasks and probably the three most obvious currently are:
• Conserve and repair the two slate plaques attached to the external west wall of the porch
• Repair damaged grave slabs
• Re-decorate wall of the south aisle (leading to the RAF Coastal Command memorial window)
Wherever we can, we tackle the minor tasks ourselves but others require contractors and incur costs
so we are always grateful for any general donations to help with such work.

You can donate direct to the church at:

Haste Ye Back

As part of our efforts to maintain the church we are hoping to encourage those who perhaps visit only once or twice a year to do so more often. Our message on pew cards is simple:
“On behalf of the Parochial Church Council we welcome you to St Eval Parish Church and hope you find peace and fellowship here. We believe our church is a very special place for quiet reflection as well as joyous friendship and worship. We work hard to maintain the church and our mission to care for and support all members of the local community. Our church needs all the support we can attract so we would be delighted if you were able to attend services regularly. There are services every Sunday and Tuesday; we hope you will find something that appeals. We hope you enjoy your time with us; haste ye back.”

We will always be particularly pleased to welcome CCMAA members.
