Gyrodactylus salaris

All Visiting anglers will be required to sign a declaration stating they have taken the correct precautions concerning GS if applicable. These are at the tackleshop in Forres and will be issued with the daily/weekly permit.

There are still raised concerns about Gyrodactylus salaris. The Fisheries Research Services, FRS Marine Laboratory Aberdeen have for some time suggested a code of practice to avoid the spread of the disease. This document produced by SEERAD and DEFRA can be found here. The River Tweed has already introduced stronger measures to combat the problem. Their policy can be found here.
