Coastal Command Book of Remembrance |
 Many will
have read, in the Autumn 2002 edition of the Newsletter, of Tony Spooner's immense
contribution to the Constant Endeavour project. A major part of this was his masterminding
and funding of the Coastal Command Book of Remembrance, recording the names of all
personnel - RAF, Commonwealth and allied - who gave their lives in Coastal Command the
Second World War. The Book is now complete and was handed over to Tony's widow, Mrs
Anne Spooner, on 17th April. The Book of Remembrance was Dedicated as part of the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic commemoration in Liverpool at the beginning of May. The Dedication took place in the Presbytery of Liverpool Cathedral at 1500 on Saturday 3rd May. |
